This year, Denmark’s largest movement against Wasting Food celebrates in 2018 10 years anniversary. Throughout the last 10 years, the organization has both initiated, implemented and contributed to over 200 local, national and international projects, events, campaigns, surplus collections, analyzes, debates and many other activities in the fight against food waste across the entire value chain from land to table. And you may be volunteering in Denmark’s coolest organization against food waste.
Over 900 volunteers contributed over 30 tons of good free food to a value of over DKK 4 million from 303 REMA 1000 supermarkets to over 12,000 poor Danes throughout the country. It happened in Christmas, on December 23, when the country-wide project JULEOVERSKUD drove for the third consecutive year. In Christmas this year, even more poor children, women and men will be helped through JULEOVERSKUD.
Have a sense of food and the use of food residues, one can become one of the Stop Wasting Food many food ambassadors, and you can risk ending up in local and national newspapers, radio and television and on behalf of the Stop Wasting Food Movement inspire thousands of people for greener eating habits.
These are just two of the many activities that the Stop Wasting Food Movement organization has sown over the years.

Stop Wasting Food is today Denmark’s most prominent in the fight against food waste and is known beyond the country’s borders. In 10 years, Stop Wasting Food has contributed to greater focus on food waste in Denmark and helped bring Denmark’s fight against food waste on the world map. Recently, BBC and CNN have produced television documentaries about Stop Wasting Food Movement Denmark and BBC’s video on Facebook got over 30 million views worldwide.
As founder of the consumer movement Stop Wasting Food, I have received a lot of prices, among other things. European Young Leader 2018 of the think tank Friends of Europe, 1st placement on the Nordic Business Report’s list of Top 20 Responsible Leaders in Northern Europe 2017, The Womenomics Influencer Award 2016, The Dane of the Year 2014, Nordic Council Nature and Environment Prize 2013, Ridderkorset The Pro Utilitate Hominum 2013, JCI Denmark’s Outstanding Young Person prize 2011.
The association has a nationwide goal and is non-profit and independent of political, religious and commercial interests. In 2016, Stop Wasting Food was formally transformed from a civil firebrand initiative to a nonprofit association.
